Biography

Cody “Beef” Franke was a beloved former PGA professional and a popular Barstool Sports golf personality who died in October 2025 at the age of 31 from a “sudden medical issue” while in the Dominican Republic for a wedding.  Known for his infectious personality and “Tip Tuesday” instructional videos, Franke was passionate about helping the “common golfer” improve their game. He joined Barstool Sports in 2025 and quickly became a fan favorite on their Fore Play podcast, where he was named the head golf professional.  His colleagues and fans universally described him as kind, humble, and genuine, with a signature gesture of tipping his hat as a sign of respect.
